Best way From Kings cross to River Thames not using tube?

I'm going to London tomorrow and because of the tube strike im at a bit of a loss as to how to get around london. I am staying at the Hilton Docklands and i've worked out how to get there using the Thames Clipper boat but im not sure how to get from Kings cross station to the River to get the boat. I would walk but we will have a huge suitcase.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Get a taxi

Train St Panacras (by Kings Cross) to Blackfrias (First Capital Connect - Formally thameslink)
Don't take a taxi or bus as the roads are clogged and its quicker to walk.

At Kings Cross, take Bus 63 towards Forest Hill tavern and get off at Blackfriars. BlackFriars Millenium Pier is a few minutes walk away.

Check the TfL JourneyPlanner for more info as it will provide bus routes and bus stop locations.
